How many times have you worked so hard to lose a few pounds to just gain it right back?
How often have you tried to lose weight and feel that the scale will just not budge? Or, you look in the mirror and feel discouraged to see minimal results after all the effort you have put into eating right and exercising?
At La Chelé Medical Aesthetics and Wellness, we understand that embarking on a weight loss journey can be deeply personal and challenging.
We offer a comprehensive medical weight loss program to support you at every stage of your weight loss journey and metabolic health transformation.
Our program was developed by Dr. Erin Saltzman, who is double board–certified in Obesity Medicine (Medical Weight Loss) and Endocrinology. Dr. Saltzman is an expert in evidence-based weight loss medicine. Our brilliant Maureen McSorley, MSN, APN, FNP-C works with Dr. Saltzman and has expertise in wellness, specifically Hormone Optimization and Medical Weight Loss. Whether you need to lose a small or significant amount of weight, our medical weight loss providers will develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique metabolism, lifestyle, and weight loss goals.
Our providers will review your medical history, weight history, medications, family history, and social history. They will take a close look at your lifestyle, including your diet and exercise routine. You will undergo a targeted physical examination and metabolic lab assessment. You will also receive a comprehensive body composition analysis with the state-of-the-art InBody Scale, which provides information about weight, BMI, basal metabolic rate, muscle mass, percent body fat, and visceral fat level.
Based on your comprehensive assessment, our providers will work with you to develop a diet and exercise plan that fits your lifestyle.
To compliment your diet and exercise plan, our providers can prescribe FDA-approved weight loss medications (including GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP medications, as well as other weight loss medications to help with appetite suppression and cravings).

You may be a good candidate for medical weight loss if you:
With our medical weight loss program, you can experience a variety of benefits beyond just losing weight:
In the hands of experienced medical weight loss providers, medical weight loss is safe and effective. Our providers will develop a weight loss plan that allows you to lose weight at a healthy rate, while nourishing your body and maintaining muscle mass.
Medical weight loss will also lead to improvement in overall health by preventing or improving many weight and obesity–related health conditions.

A healthy rate of weight loss is anywhere between 0.5 to 2 pounds per week. Depending on individual weight loss goals, patients can expect to lose up to 10 pounds during the first month. Many patients have achieved significant weight loss over the first six months (up to 50 + pounds). We have patients who have lost more than 100 pounds over one to two years.
Improvement in body mass index (BMI).
Improvement in body composition (a decrease in percent body fat and visceral fat mass and a maintenance or gain in muscle mass).
Improvement in confidence, energy, mobility, and overall well-being.
It can be challenging to maintain weight loss long-term without proper guidance from a trained medical professional.
There is an option to continue in the La Chelé Medical Weight Loss Program after the first six months, for as long as you need guidance and accountability. Our weight-loss providers will ensure that you are staying on track with your diet and exercise plan and adjust weight loss medications as needed to successfully maintain your weight loss. Working together, we will troubleshoot any obstacles that you may encounter and help to keep you motivated. It is possible to achieve long-term weight loss!
At La Chelé, we take a holistic approach to weight loss. Our weight loss program is more than just a quick fix; we focus on helping you achieve a healthy lifestyle and maintain long-term health.
Our program is designed to provide significant weight loss while addressing the health problems that may have hindered your progress in the past.

“There’s No Place Like La Chelé”
We believe that weight gain and obesity are medical issues in and of themselves. It is often necessary to add weight loss medication to a diet and exercise plan to address underlying metabolic issues.
By sending signals to the hunger center in the brain, decreasing appetite and “food noise.”
Slowing down how food leaves the stomach and travels through the GI tract.
By improving insulin sensitivity and decreasing insulin resistance.
Improving insulin sensitivity unlocks visceral fat stores.
Heart, brain, and kidney protection, treatment of type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, and obstructive sleep apnea. Studies are also being done to look at the beneficial effects of GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP medications on memory and addiction.
Dr. Saltzman’s passion for Medical Weight Loss and Obesity Medicine stems from her own lifelong struggle with her weight. Despite trying many different diets and exercise programs, she would ultimately regain the weight she had worked so hard to lose. She understands the frustration of the seemingly endless cycle of weight loss and weight regain.
Dr. Saltzman received her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She did her internal medicine residency and endocrinology/metabolism fellowship at The Lahey Clinic (Tufts Medical School). Dr. Saltzman has also received board-certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, Obesity Medicine Association and Obesity Society.
During her medical training, Dr. Saltzman studied the physiology of weight gain and obesity. She feels strongly that uncontrolled weight gain and obesity are medical conditions in their own right. Weight gain does not occur only because of a lack of willpower but from a combination of genetics, hormonal imbalances, life stressors, and environmental factors. Losing weight can be extremely difficult when trying to overcome these factors, and then keeping the lost weight off can be even more challenging.
As an endocrinologist, Dr. Saltzman has treated many patients with weight and obesity – related medical conditions (including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, elevated cholesterol, and polycystic ovarian syndrome) over the years. Her treatment approach has evolved to help patients lose weight to improve and sometimes resolve these medical conditions. Her vast knowledge and experience have helped hundreds of patients successfully lose weight and maintain a healthier weight. Her patients’ weight loss success inspired her own weight loss journey. To pay it forward, Dr. Saltzman has joined La Chelé Medical Aesthetics and Wellness to help patients become the healthiest version of themselves.

No! With so many online companies and wellness clinics claiming to have the “next best thing,” it can be hard to distinguish between what is legitimate medication and what is not. The rise of counterfeit drugs is a major concern, as they may contain harmful or ineffective ingredients — sometimes too much, too little, or none of the active medication at all. At La Chelé, we prioritize your safety by prescribing only FDA-approved weight loss medications, ensuring that every medication is properly dosed, reliable, and of the highest quality.

You can have up to six monthly appointments (months 3 and 5 follow up appointments are optional). Between visits, you will have direct access to your provider for additional support. For added convenience, we also offer Zoom telehealth appointments.
Insulin resistance happens when your pancreas needs to produce high levels of insulin to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Elevated insulin levels can push circulating fat into the visceral fat stores and make it much more difficult to burn this fat.
Some conditions and factors that can contribute to weight gain or difficulty losing weight include:
After completing the initial 6-month weight loss program, you will have the option to enroll in our Weight Maintenance Program. To ensure ongoing progress and support, follow-up appointments are required every 2 - 3 months. During these appointments, we will review your progress and update your InBody scan. Your provider will make any necessary adjustments to your diet, exercise plan and medications. You can remain enrolled in the maintenance program for as long as you need.
